We had a bit of a relaxing morning getting ready before making our way into Shin-Osaka to catch the Shinkansen into Tokyo. The Nozomi Shinkansen (which we caught) travels at speeds up to 300km / hour, so it only took us about 2 1/2 hours to make the trip. It's such a lovely way to travel - smooth, quiet and no needing to check in luggage and arrive super early like you do for catching an aeroplane. I spent most of the trip catching up on some much needed z's.
When we arrived in Tokyo, we made our way straight to our hotel. Thankfully we were on time for check-in and were able to drop our bags off before heading back to Ueno to walk through the local markets, eat at the Hard Rock Cafe and do a spot of shopping in Mauri 0101.
We did however decide to call it an early night and prepare for the upcoming four days at Disney.
